Boarding

The last week has been unusually quiet with the Year 12s all departed as well as our World Challenge boarders who left on Friday. We have been seeing some amazing photos from their Cambodian travels through the THAC World Challenge Instagram page and it looks like they are having a blast. If Tim Gilling has not lost any important personal belongings or been lost himself yet, it will be an absolute miracle.

Eliza Jagger has been selected as Vice-Captain of the Under 16s Western Waves representative cricket side and we are all extremely proud of this achievement. She is clearly a rising star and we look forward to hearing of all the great innings and spells she will produce in this team. Hopefully this means she will be in great form for the State T20 Cricket Final that the College girls are playing in at the MCG on Thursday. We wish everyone in that team the best of luck.

We also wish Phoebe Russell and Chloe Andersen the best as they depart for Adelaide and the National Pan-Pacific School Games next week. Phoebe will be playing hockey and Chloe will be a hockey umpire. I hope they have a fantastic week and I know they will be outstanding ambassadors for the College.

It has been terrific to see the Year 10s and 11s taking their exams very seriously this week and the extra effort and diligence they have applied. Hopefully this effort will be reflected in their results and I am looking forward to seeing lots of positive comments in each boarder’s reports. We would also like to wish Years 6 - 9 the best of luck with their exams next week and encourage them all to do their best.

Mr Alex Smith
