2B Mini Beasts

Enjoyed looking at 'Museum In A Box' to support our learning in Science.

We then enjoyed exploring the playground - looking for mini beasts. We had a fun time playing with magnifying glasses and pasta worms.

3B Maths

Students in 3B Maths have started Super Stem Silver Friday’s. The students during these lessons are given the opportunity to apply their mathematical knowledge to solve problems. Students are given a goal, the rules and set materials to complete the task. They then have 10 minutes to work in small groups to solve the problem. The students really enjoyed our very first lesson.

2B Maths

Our students engaged in play shopping to support our learning of money and engaged in partner based hands-on learning in Mathematics. We are focussing on addition strategies.

Using concrete materials to show our learning in Mathematics and in HSIE we pretended to be archaeologists. This activity consolidated our understanding of key vocabulary, 'past'. Special thanks to Mr Green for the bones ;)

Secondary "Special Project"

Early last term Mr Craig’s dad brought in an old Farmliner 445 Diesel Tractor which had a burnt out motor. A volunteer group of  Year 9 and 10 students worked through our lunch times with the help of Mr Craig and his dad to get it back up and running. Every one of us learnt something new about how diesel motors work and run.

The process started by stripping down the whole tractor so we could see which parts were needed to be replaced and to see if anything was still useable. After we sorted the things we could use and could not use we went and bought the parts that we needed to put the tractor back together.

The tractor project took a total of about 13 weeks and each week helped us learn more about diesel motors and what is in a tractor that makes it work.

Cell abrations in Year 7

Annually our Year 7 students have an Assessment Task that gives them the opportunity to make a 'cell' - wow - we do get some creative cells. Here are just a few.

2B Engaged and enjoying their classroom work.

National Simultaneous Story Time and learning about coding and robotics!

Learning to write their own rhyming poems using a word family...

There was a nit her name was Tit

She liked to sit in the sandpit.

She also liked to knit

She had a knitting kit.

She liked to split bananas

She would not quit.

She was also fit,

Her child, Smit.

Esther

There was a man that's name was Smit,

He had a chick,

His name was Tit.

Smit was fit.

Nikki

There was a man,

He collected his spit.

His name was Nit.

He liked to knit.

Nit was a kid.

He had a fit because he lost his privilege to knit.

His mum said, "Don't have a fit!"

"But I want to knit!"

"Go to the corner and sit!"

Year 5 Goldrush/1850s

We celebrated the Goldrush days by getting dressed up in clothing from the 1850s and participating in gold rush activities. We then enjoyed a potluck lunch shindig to finish it all off!!
