Year 7 Geography fieldwork at Toolangi State Forest

7D students in the Mountain Ash forest which has regrown after the 1939 bushfires

In preparation for the upcoming bushfire season, our Year 7 students have been learning about how different types of forest have adapted to fire and how people prepare. Some highlights include seeing the world’s tallest flowering plant and the world’s tallest moss, and drinking fresh water from Sylvia Creek. Encounters with leeches were also new for many students.
