Child Safety

A Day for Daniel - Friday October 30th

St Joseph's is committed to protecting the safety of all our students. A Day for Daniel is Australia’s largest day of action to raise awareness of child safety, protection and harm prevention. The theme this year is Wear Red, Educate and Donate. All children are encouraged to wear a touch of red with their school uniform on the day.  The Day for Daniel will launch our child safety unit which will be conducted in weeks 5 to 8.

The Daniel Morcombe Child Safety Curriculum was developed in partnership between Queensland’s Department of Education, Training & Employment and the Daniel Morcombe Foundation. The interactive lessons complement existing school safety initiatives and contribute further to the safety of students, with lessons about personal safety and awareness, cyber and telephone safety using developmentally appropriate scenarios, based on three key safety messages: Recognise, React and Report.

A Day for Daniel is a day to be positive about learning to be safe; for we all have the right to feel safe all the time.

Stay safe,

Sarah & Bek
