Years Prep to 2 continues to focus on our routines across all the areas of their learning. The children are thriving being back in their classes and groups and working with their teachers. In the printed newsletter you received in week 3 there was a deal of detail about the learning schedule for this term.

We still have special times, of course, and they all had a whirlwind day when the school photographers came to each of the campuses.

It has also been lovely to get outside in the fresh air. There have been lots of examples of different weather over the past 2 weeks and luckily this was a beautiful blue sky day to do some writing.

Mad About Science

One of the very special events has been all classes across the college experiencing exciting incursions related to Science.

The Prep students were involved in conducting experiments and learning interesting information about weather. They made salt water and then evaporated it to make fresh water. They made snow and experimented with UV beads.

Year 1/2s participated in Kitchen Chemistry, where they mixed different ingredients from the kitchen to cause a chemical reaction.

Some favourite experiments were mixing vinegar and bicarb soda in a snap lock bag and watching the bag blow up and even explode or putting drops of food colouring in milk and adding detergent to see the colours swirl around and mix.

Lots of fun and learning were had by all and we continued after the incursion.
