The Continuing Adventures of Flip the Visiting Therapy Dog

As we head into the warmer months, we hope that you are enjoying some well-earned freedom and catching up with friends and family.

An update on our Visiting Therapy Dog, Flip:

While all the students were engaging in Remote Learning 2.0 during Term 3, Flip has spent the last few months learning online as well, gaining a certificate in therapy. ‘Life partner’ and Wantirna Social Worker, Guiseppe Relia said that Flip is very studious and excelled in the course. Flip is looking forward to gaining further accreditations later in the year, where he will get to see his fellow classmates face to face (or is that snout to snout?!)

Since returning to Wantirna College, Flip has enjoyed seeing students both socially and in Wellbeing sessions. He is a natural at understanding young people’s feelings and being an empathetic and positive companion.

Flip has also been known to support staff in their yard duty at lunchtime as evidenced in the photos below. Flip’s adventures are being documented on social media and we would love it if the school community would follow him on Instagram @flip_the_gsp

If you have any concerns about your son/daughter and would like support from Wellbeing, please don’t hesitate to email us on:
