The last day of Term 2 (Friday 24th June- school closure day for students) the staff will embark on Day 2 of their professional development journey in Reframing Learning and Teaching Environments (ReLATE).

As part of the ReLATE implementation, we began with a Discovery Day for Sacred Heart school which produced a Discovery and Insights Report. This Report revealed our school’s unique strengths, and highlighted opportunities, challenges and aspirations for creating the pre-conditions for improved teaching, learning and wellbeing. This Report also included contextualised responses mapped against each of the four ReLATE foundational concepts; safety, counter-stress school environment, enhanced teaching and learning, sustainable whole school culture change.

The Discovery Day involved a small number of students, parents and staff that participated in an online Zoom conversation with the Program Development and Implementation Leader and the Program Coordinator from MacKillop Institute.

In short, the Professional Development ReLATE Days provide staff with skills and knowledge that aim to make real, measurable and lasting change in our school to better the teaching, learning and wellbeing of not only students but staff, leaders and the whole school community.
