Red Shield Appeal

It was wonderful to see 170 students giving up their time over the past two weekends, to volunteer for one of our major Community Service events for the year - the Red Shield Appeal. Again this year, a massive effort was made by not only our students but also 40 parents who volunteered to transport the groups.

The 20 Castlemaine door knockers raised $900 and Bendigo students raised $8377.

The Prefects in Senior School organised a 'splash of red' day raising $310 and the Junior School students donated their loose change from lunch orders in the Red Pig money boxes and also had a 'splash of red' day raising $566. Junior School students also had a Red Food Pantry Drive. The families have donated baked beans, crushed tomatoes, spaghetti, strawberry jam, tomato soup. These items were greatly appreciated by the families the Salvation Army support.

Combining all of these amazing efforts Girton raised $10,153 for the Salvation Army.

Thank-you to everyone involved.
