From the Chair

The following information was emailed to the Girton Grammar School community on Thursday 2nd June:

Dear members of the Girton Grammar School community

I am writing to provide you with an update regarding the appointment of the next Head of Girton Grammar School.

The Board has partnered with executive search firm Fisher Leadership in what will be an extensive and comprehensive search for the school's next Head. The Fisher Leadership team is skilled and experienced in the appointment of outstanding leaders for independent schools, and the Girton recruitment process will be undertaken by Managing Partner, Liz Jones. Fisher leadership was selected from a field of exemplary educational recruitment firms.

The Board seeks to appoint a Head who will support the realisation of the school's mission of striving for excellence in academic and co-academic areas of education, while considering the school community's expectations based on recent and ongoing consultation. While the appointment process is expected to take 3 months, the Board is committed to finding the right person rather than being constrained by a predetermined timeframe. The commencement date for the new Head will be determined by mutual agreement with the successful applicant.

As previously advised, Dr Emma O'Rielly has assumed the position of Acting Head, supported by a strong senior leadership team that has worked together for many years.

The Board looks forward to working closely with Fisher Leadership to appoint a Head who will embrace the mission and values of Girton Grammar and work closely with the school leadership, students, and parents in moving the school confidently into the future.

We look forward to providing you with further updates throughout the recruitment process.

Yours faithfully

Mr David Jemmett

Chair
