Sandhurst Senior Girls Basketball

Last week, the Year 11/12 girls basketball team headed off to the Bendigo Stadium for the Sandhurst Division Senior Girls Basketball competition.

The day consisted of 3 round-robin games.

The first game was against Marist Secondary college where the girls came out firm winning comprehensively by 40 points. The second game was against Bendigo Senior Secondary College. Early on in the game it was fairly even and competitive but a strategic time out by coach Sally Hurley, filled with inspirational advice, resulted in us coming out even stronger in the second half and winning by 20 points. In the final game, we played SEDA. We came out firing with a score straight out of jump ball and it was only upwards from there. It was a great team effort with the scoring shared around.

These 3 wins mean we successfully move onto the Loddon Mallee Regional final in Echuca on July 15th.

I would like to thank coach Mrs Hurley and boys coach Mr Norris for accompanying both teams on the day as well as Mrs Tunzi and Ms Speed for organising the day.
