New Child Safe Standards
The Victorian Government has announced new Child Safe Standards to further strengthen child safety across organisations, including schools. The new standards recognise the critical importance of families and the broader school community in maintaining and promoting child safety and wellbeing.
We are currently updating our child safety policies and procedures to ensure they meet the requirements of the new standards. These policies will be on our school website on the 1st of July. Some of the key policies include:
- Child Safety and Wellbeing Policy
- Child Safety Code of Conduct
- Engaging Families in Child Safety Policy
- Working with Children Check – Policy Implementation
- Student Behaviour Policy
- Child Safety Responding and Reporting Obligations Policy and Procedure
At St Martin de Porres we are committed to continuous improvement in our approach to child safety and wellbeing and welcome feedback from families and members of our school community on ways we can further strengthen our child safety policies, procedures and practices.
If you have any questions about the new Child Safe Standards please do not hesitate to email us.
