Learning Power Award Recipients

Congratulations to students who have been recognised by staff for their demonstration of one or many of the 6 Learning Powers celebrated at SMDP.

On Monday whole school the following students were acknowledged and their learning described so we all know why they are worthy recipients of our awards and applause.

Week 6

PrepL

River

For being a resilient learner who is starting to see mistakes as part of learning! River has been building up his bounce back toolkit and encouraging his peers to say “I can’t YET, but I will”. Well done River!

Maxwell

For being a creative learner who communicates his unique ideas through drawing.  Maxwell is working hard to become more confident in group discussions and writing.  Keep this up, Maxwell, we want to hear more of your ideas.

For being a reflective learner who takes on teacher feedback to edit and improve her work. She also invests time and effort to practise these skills at home and upload them to Seesaw.

For being a motivated learner who has made special efforts to take part in learning discussions and share his thoughts and ideas with the class. He listens carefully so that he is successful in achieving the learning intention in his independent task.

For being a reflective learner who has worked really hard in her narrative writing to use success criteria to improve her stories. Sofia has been able to identify her next steps in her narrative writing and make goals for future learning. Great job Sofia!

W6- To Heidi for being a creative learner who engages her audience in writing. You have amazing ideas that always produce great stories. You have learnt and used interesting new vocabulary in your stories to make them even better.

For being a creative learner who shares interesting ideas with our class. Darcy impressed with his experimentation of language during the Dog Lost language transformation activity.

For being a reflective learner in writing.  You have shown you are reflecting on your writing such as the camp recount. Well done at listening to feedback and editing your writing to include greater detail and more exciting vocabulary. Keep up the great work Aewin!!!

For being a reflective learner in writing this week. Once you completed your recount you independently edited your writing for meaning and uplevelled your vocabulary to further engage your reader in your writing. Keep up the great work!

For being a motivated and responsible learner, who is able to independently complete learning projects by remaining focused and on task. Maira it is wonderful to see that you are driven to do your best in your learning tasks and that you use positive self-talk to remain focused on your learning goals. You should be proud of how you respond to feedback, and always look for areas you can improve in. Keep up the fantastic effort Maira!

Jugaadh

for being a reflective learner who has been taking on teacher feedback to improve his writing! Jugaad has been including lots of detail in the pictures before writing and having a go even when writing can seem tricky! Well done Jugaadh!

For being a reflective learner in Maths this week whilst learning different Multiplication Strategies. When you found yourself in the learning pit you sought out assistance and asked clarifying questions to ensure you could use the strategies we were focussing on. You then went on to successfully demonstrate your understanding of all three multiplication strategies. Fantastic Effort Patrick! Keep up this reflective and motivated attitude to learning.
