Deputy Principal's News

Dear Parents and Carers,

Tomorrow we have our school closure day in preparation for Term 3, quite surreal!  This means that the end of term and school holidays are fast approaching, next week being the last week of Term 2.

With Semester One, almost complete, you will receive a formal written report of your child’s achievements for the first part of the year.  The reports will be supported with parent teacher interviews (Online) scheduled for next Thursday 23rd June from 1.30pm onwards.  Students will finish at 1.00pm on the day to allow teachers to facilitate these meetings.

School reports will be available via the nForma Parent Portal on Monday 20th June.  An email will be sent to all families when the reports have been published and ready to view.

Accessing the nForma Reports - Semester 1 Reports

We will be using the nForma Parent Portal to electronically share your child/ren’s academic report/s with you.  Prior to the reports being published on the Parent Portal, all parents will receive an email explaining how to access and set up your password. If you created a password at the end of last year, this will be reset 24 - 48 hours prior to Semester 1, 2022 reports being published.  2021 Parent Portal passwords will be reset  later this evening (Thursday 16th June), once reset, you will receive a Create Access email from no-reply@nforma.com.au (so please check your spam if you do not receive it).  Following the prompts on the email will guide you in creating access and setting up your login details, thus enabling access to all academic reports for your child which are currently on nForma.  Important to note, that once your child leaves St James, his/her academic reports will be archived and you will no longer have direct access via the nForma Parent portal.  Therefore nForma advises all parents/carers to download a copy of all academic reports via the portal and print them off for future reference.  The school will always have access to all archived reports.

In order for the Semester 1 reports to be shared digitally, it is imperative that the school have your up to date contact details, in particular your email addresses.  If you have recently updated or changed your email address, can you please update your details on Operoo and inform Imelda, Iris or Ange at info@stjamesbrighton.catholic.edu.au

A confirmation email will be shared on Monday by the school to inform you when the School Reports have been published and can be viewed.

If there are any queries, please do not hesitate in contacting the school.

Wishing All families a safe and relaxing School Holidays.  See you all back in Term 3!

COVID-19 Safety at School (Updated protocols)

RAT Screening update:  From Monday 23 May 2022, MACS does not

recommend that non-symptomatic students or staff conduct RATs twice a week in mainstream schools.  RAT screening is recommended if you are symptomatic or are a close contact  (live with someone who currently has COVID-19), in which case students who return a negative test can attend school, but must wear a mask and return a NEGATIVE RAT screening test for 5 days.

At St James we have put a number of strategies in place to reduce the risk of transmission.  No one strategy is 100% effective.

Here are just some of the ways we are doing to keep our Students, School community and Staff safe and well.

In light of current restrictions and inline with our School Covid Safety we ask that you respect and follow the following guidelines.

Reporting a Student Positive RAT / PCR Result

We have devised a Parent Step by Step guide to assist you in the event that you need to report a positive result to the school!
