OSHClub

What’s been happening at OSHC?

Our theme this term is all about exploring our identity as we learn to successfully negotiate play through a range of creative experiences that foster curiosity and imagination.

Coding Club

In Coding Club, the children continued learning about the special coding words necessary for building code. Congratulations to Charlie, Gwen and Nadia who were able to guide their dog through their Lego maze!  We also introduced our awesome Sphero robot!  Using their knowledge of code language, the children were able to trial their code using a real robot. Due to the success this term, we will continue to build upon Coding Club in term three. We can’t wait to use our brand-new coding tablets, robots and programs next term!

Busy Bees Crafting Club

The children have loved participating in our Busy Bees Crafting Club. At OSHClub we’ve also jumped aboard the loom band craze! It has been wonderful to watch the older children mentor the younger students as they teach one another how to make their own loom band creation. Developing their awareness for the environment and building upon our autumn observations, we have also discussed the changes we can see in winter. Together, the children made some beautiful winter scenes and chatted about how winter looks and feels in Melbourne. Check out our amazing artworks below!

Performing Arts Club

We had the best time in Performing Arts Club! Last week, the children decided to work collaboratively to design and make their own costumes. Using their creativity and imagination, the children successfully created a range of awesome costumes. Check out Iris’ autumn inspired costume below!

OSHClub Mini Bake-Off Club

We had the best time in OSHClub Mini Bake Off Club! The senior students took the lead once again and successfully delegated roles amongst their younger peers. Together, the children baked some scrumptious choc-chip cookies and blueberry muffins. Next week, we can’t wait to have our end of term bake off and blind taste test challenge!

What’s on the Menu?

A platter of fresh fruit and vegetables are always served with our menu specials.

Early Finish Afternoons:

Thursday 23rd and Friday 24th of June

Next week, St James Catholic Primary School will have an early finish time of 1.00pm Thursday the 23rd of June and 1.30pm on Friday the 24th of June. OSHClub will be running extended care sessions from bell time until 6.00pm for families requiring care on these dates.
