Year 9 & 10 Mock Job Interviews

Students in Careers classes are currently working on preparing themselves for job interviews. Over the next couple of weeks, Year 9 & 10 students will attend a mock job interview. All interviews are for a hypothetical position, and will take place here at school. Students will attend normal classes on the day of their interview. Students will be given interview time slips next week to remind them when to attend their interview and will need to show this to their class teacher to excuse themselves from class to attend the interview. Students in Year 10 are expected to dress appropriately for the position they are applying for and will need to bring a change of clothes to get changed into for the interview, before getting changed back into their school uniform immediately after.

Students have also been working on their resumes and cover letters in Careers, in preparation for the interview.

Students will be assessed on their ability to prepare for and attend the interview. The interviews are designed to be supportive and helpful for all students. They will also be provided with individual feedback from the interviewer – all of this being excellent practice and preparation for a real job interview.
