YEAR 9 $20 BOSS UNIT

Year 9 $20 Boss unit

Over the past few weeks, there has been such a fantastic vibe around the school during recess and lunchtimes! Year 9 students recently held their business week for $20 Boss, an immersive learning program for building the enterprise skills of young people, developed by the Foundation for Young Australians (FYA) and is backed by The Commonwealth Bank of Australia and Financial Literacy Australia.

Students were given $20 of start-up capital to create, launch and operate their own venture over the course of a school term. Students learnt key elements of entrepreneurship and were taught how to make money and create social good.

All students who participated in this unit were presented with a congratulatory certificate at the Year 9 Assembly early this week. Prizes were also awarded to the business that made the most profit from their business venture. Well done to all students who participated in this great learning experience.

It was fabulous to see our budding entrepreneurs in action on their trading days. See photos below that celebrate the culmination of an amazing unit and students & staff having fun together.
