Principal's Update

Hello Everyone!

Looking ahead for this term we have a number exciting events happening. This includes The Ned Show, Book Week (including a dress up day and parade), Fathers Day Breakfast, CPS Athletics Day, Footy Colours Day and an AFL Footy Clinic. This is all on top of the wonderful high quality teaching and learning happening in the classrooms every day! It is a pleasure to walk around the school and see students being engaged and both teachers and students happy and smiling.

The year does continue to be unpredictable and tough at times though, with COVID still present in the community. Students in years 3 to 6 are encouraged to wear masks whilst at school to reduce risk of COVID. Students on school buses MUST wear a mask whilst travelling. We have seen the impact of COVID on the bus lines, with combined routes still a possibility due to driver shortages, and also on our school community. We assure all families that we will continue with our high quality teaching and learning each and every day, but may occasionally have to operate with reduced staff due to illnesses. We also understand the effect COVID is having on families. There has been some confusion around the rules of household contacts. Students, who live with a person who has tested positive to COVID, are still able to attend school as long as they are symptom free and have tested negative to COVID. A Rapid Antigen Test must be completed, with a negative result, each school day. If families require more RATs please contact the school office as we do have a limited supply still available for students. We are also expecting 2 more deliveries of RATs throughout this term which will be distributed to students.

Book Week – Dress Up Parade

Book week is scheduled for Monday 22nd August to Friday 26th August. With a Dress-Up Day and Parade being held on Friday 26th August. The theme for the parade is - ‘Dreaming with Eyes Open’, and families are welcome to come along and watch. Get as creative as you like, the kids have a ball and I’m sure this year will be no exception. Students can dress as their favourite book character and I am sure we will see lots of variety!

2023 Enrolments

We are now accepting enrolments for 2023. If you or any families you know have a child starting Foundation in 2023, please contact the school to arrange an enrolment pack. We welcome all families to book a tour of the school with either myself or Jeremy. We love to show our school off!

Pre-Prep Program

We are very excited to be offering our Pre-Prep Program again in Term 4! Enrolments are open for all 2023 Foundation students. This program has proven to be successful in giving students the opportunity to experience school life and become confident in a school setting. This leads to a smoother transition to their Foundation year and commencement of their schooling journey. To enrol for the Pre-Prep Program please contact the office on 58721374 as enrolments will be closing soon.

Remember my door is always open if you ever need anything. Have a great week!
