Details regarding BOOK FAIR are continuing to be finalised.
BOOK WEEK activities will take place throughout the week beginning Monday 22nd August.
BOOK WEEK PARADE: Friday 26th August - time to be confirmed Students may wear their costume to school.
Start thinking now: ask your child what or who is, or has been their favourite book character or author.
(Just wondering if anyone has a pair of winter pyjamas with trains on them, size - adult 12, that I could borrow please. )
Guessing Competition:
Mrs McGuirk's favourite book character from a book much loved and read over the years.
Clues: His name begins with A and he wants to go and live in Timbuktu.
When you work it out come to the library and enter.
"Pick Mrs McGuirk's Book Week Dress-Up" Competition.
Competition closes just before BOOK WEEK.
Winners announced at the BOOK WEEK PARADE (1 correct entry chosen from each class).
Student loan limits will be increased for the next few weeks to allow students who are close to reaching the target for the Premier's Reading Challenge opportunity to do so.
Keep the momentum going.......
At the last tally 324 students have completed the Challenge. This number is over half the school population. Many more students are just a few books away from completion.

If you would like to enter your child's books online, email or send a message with your child and I will provide you with the details.
Kinder, Year 1 and Year 2 students should have their reading log in their library bag every week. Please write the green dot borrowed books on the reading log.

Here is the library timetable for your child's weekly library lesson.
Note: Students are not restricted to their class lesson to borrow / return.
The St Nicholas School Library is OPEN 5 days a week.
Please ensure your child is prepared by reminding them to place their books and library bags in their school bag the night before.
All students, K - 6 must have a library bag. This is listed as a requirement on the student equipment list each year.

Ask your child about the bookmark which provides home access for World e Books and Worldbook online.
If you have not logged on and had a browse around, sit down with your child and ask them about it. I'm sure all primary-aged students will be able to show you some of the features.

Sora - get free ebooks and audiobooks from your school. Step 1: Install Sora app from Apple App Store or Google Play Store, or soraapp.com.
