When we point to something that is called a pronoun.
Pointing is not rude in Deaf culture as it is an important part of the language.
In Auslan we can point to something instead of signing what it is, especially if we don't know what the sign is.
Instead of saying the name of something we can point.
For example:
‘this’, ‘that’, ‘it’, ‘he’, ‘she’, ‘them’, ‘they’, ‘those’
COLLAGE
Prep - 2 students have continued to develop their collage skills, using nature and kitchen spices to be creative.
MOSAICS
Senior students have been reviewing their knowledge of Mosaics.
Grade 3 have been designing Minecraft mosaics with Magiclay.
Grade 4 have been inspired by biodiversity to create stunning mosaic birds.
Grade 5/6 have started constructing their 3D monster mosaics by forming an armature, applying magiclay and mosaic tiles.
Independent Instrument Program - Grades 3-6
Grades 3-6 students have just finished four weeks learning the first of two selected instruments, using our custom made lessons. Students (and parents!!) are free to continue learning and practicing at home and can access the site here:
Ukulele time!
Grades P-2 are spending some time learning to play the ukulele, using some class made songs and a school wide competition using the app Yousician. Yousician is a free (for limited use a day) app and you can see more information on it here. It also caters for singing, keys, bass and guitar for all levels.
Athletics
Senior Athletics Day was a huge success. Well done to all students that took part in the day and dressed up to support your house. Prep - 2 Athletics will be help on Tuesday 23rd August.
