Freeman

Introduction

We have just ticked over the halfway stage of the Term three and have had another busy start to the term. We have had several events that Freeman students have been involved in including: the Robotics competition, sport teams competing in Inter-school sports competitions and a large proportion of our students competing at the recent Zone athletics carnival. We recognised and celebrated the excellent work of students who have been demonstrating the school values of citizenship, respect and the pursuit of excellence and look forward to giving students the opportunity to nominate their peers for awards at the end of the term. I hope all students continue to engage with the school events and are looking forward to a nice break in a few weeks.

House Competitions

As a house we completed the Intra-House competition where all mentor groups competed across five different competitions. The results were announced in the House assembly and congratulations to Ms. Tang and her Mentor Group for scoring the most points across all activities. I would like to acknowledge the work of the student leaders and mentor teachers for their support in running the competition. We are currently in the process of competing in our first Inter-House competition against the Dunlop House. The students competed on Friday during Mentor Group in a game of Pictionary against their rival Dunlop Mentor Group. The Freeman groups have started the competition well and we look forward to coming out on top in the upcoming relay races against Dunlop.

Tabitha Orlando

On the 16th of July Tabitha competed at her 2nd AIO (Australian International Oireachtas) which was held in Bankstown Sydney. This competition is a practise for nationals in the way that many kids across Australia compete in it. Tabitha place 6th for her age group.

In September, Tabitha will be going to Perth for The Australian Irish Dancing Championships (Nationals). This will be her third year competing and wish her all the best in her upcoming competitions.
