Yesterday was an important feast for Australians as we celebrated the country's first saint – a woman who deeply relied on God's goodness and believed in it with all her being.  Saint Mary of the Cross (MacKillop) dedicated her life to doing something about the needs of people around her. This week let us dedicate ourselves to doing what we can for the people around us.

Mary MacKillop chose St Joseph as patron of the women she inspired with her vision of simple living and the education of poor children.

She founded the Sisters of St. Joseph of the Sacred Heart. Her feast day is of particular significance to our school as we were founded by the sisters of St Joseph of the Sacred Heart.

We pray

For the Church in Australia, that it be renewed with Mary MacKillop’s bold faith, missionary spirit and passion for the poor.

For health care workers  risking their lives to care for COVID patients, that they will stay safe and strong.
