Kitchen – by Airlie Hague
I made carrot and pineapple muffins.
Airlie cooked a pizza with garlic.
We had pea and broccoli soup.
I worked with my friends Ivy, Cooper, Max K and Mieke.
I feel happy when I cook in the kitchen.
The food was good and it makes us stay healthy.
With the remote learning rollercoaster happening this term, Year 3 finally got a Kitchen class taster last week! We had some very excited and enthusiastic students getting to know the school kitchen, and whipping up some simple tasty snacks in the process. We made English muffin mini pizzas, and white bean dip with carrot sticks. Looking forward to seeing these young chefs develop their kitchen skills! See below for the recipes.

Try your hand at these recipes this fortnight! We currently have a bumper harvest of sprouting broccoli (broccolini) happening in the garden, so this week Year 5 cooked up a delicious broccoli and pea soup. We served the soup with some garlic pizza, and finished up with carrot cake cupcakes for a veggie inspired treat.
We are delighted to be able to welcome adult volunteers back into the Kitchen and Garden program! Parents, grandparents, community members etc, all welcome.
We are low on volunteersand do need your help, please get in touch ASAP if you can spare any time.
Volunteers require a current Working with children card (free to apply), and will need to do a brief induction at the front office.
It is great fun and you will get to taste some amazing dishes made from our fresh produce (kitchen classes), and/or enjoy some fresh air and sunshine while helping to grow our veggies. You are welcome to attend as a one-off, or commit for regular sessions.
