e-Smart Tips

Working in partnership with families is a key objective at the College and we aim to work together and support you when faced with challenges in raising your daughters. The following are some eSmart tips from Youth Central Website.

Never share your password

Ever! Make sure your password is at least eight characters long, a mix of letters and numbers and not the names of your favourite band, pet or football team.

Think twice before sending or posting a photo

A private joke can become a public embarrassment in one click. Once it's out there, you can't take it back and it can travel a long way very quickly.

Protect your private information

Only give your mobile phone number and email address to people you can trust. Think about the information you have in your online profiles. If it includes your home address, your mobile number, and a photo of you, it makes it you very easy to find.

Dealing with arguments

If an online argument is turning into a flame war, let it go. Step away, take a few deep breaths and remember what you are posting is probably not something you'll be proud of tomorrow

What to do when things go wrong

1. Let someone know

2. Change your password

3. Block or report

4. Save the evidence

You Can Sit With Me Program

The You Can Sit With Me Program has been introduced at Year 7 to emphasise the importance of inclusion and acceptance.

Students are asked to sign a contract if they are willing to be a You Can Sit With Me monitor for the week. Homeroom teachers and Level Leaders then select representatives from the year level.

We feel it is important that students understand that if they wear a You Can Sit With Me wristband, then that is a commitment.

Big Sister Little Sister (BSLS) Disco

The Year 7 and 10 students are looking forward to the BSLS Disco to be held on Tuesday 29 October in the Mary Dalton Hall. The Disco will take place between 6.15pm and 8.00pm.

The Disco is designed to strengthen the connections  that the Year 7 and 10 students have with each other and strengthen the sense of belonging student experience.

A reminder to Year 7 parents that while your daughter is dancing the night away at the Disco, you are invited to attend a parent seminar that will be facilitated by Sonya Karras. Sonya Karras is the creator of Whole New World, a leading youth issues speaker and author. Each year she presents to tens of thousands of young people, parents, teachers and organisations providing up to date, informative and highly amusing safe partying, drugs and alcohol seminars.

The parent seminar ‘Celebrating Safely’ will be held in the College Auditorium from 7.00pm to 8.00pm.
