Subjects for 2020 and Booklists

We are in the process of assigning students to classes based on the preferences they submitted earlier in the term. In some cases, if we are unable to offer the subject or there is a clash on the timetable, students are allocated one of their reserve subjects.

Booklists will be available to families in Term 4 and the last date to return the booklist order to the College is Friday 29 November 2019.

Students studying VCE English and Literature are strongly encouraged to take advantage of the Early English Text order. Detailed information with regards to the online ordering process has been circulated to 2020 VCE students. The last date to place orders online is Sunday 27 October.

VCE

Trial Examination Results on Accelerus

VCE Unit 3 and 4 Trial Examination results will be available on the Parent Portal on Tuesday October 22. Parents/Carers are encouraged to contact the subject teacher in the first instance if there are questions or concerns they wish to discuss.

Scholars of Distinction Award Assembly 2020

We will have a change of format for this prestigious assembly in Term 1 next year. All VCE students who receive an ATAR of 90+ and all students who receive 40+ for a subject mark will receive an invitation to attend this assembly next year. We feel that this will give us an opportunity to celebrate more of our students than previously. Students will be notified when results are released.

VCAA End of Year examinations

Students are advised to check their examination timetable on the VCAA website and to familiarise themselves with the examination conditions well in advance of their examinations. Students need to wear their full summer uniform to all examinations and to bring their student card or other photo identification to all examinations.

Semester 2 Examinations

Years 10 and 11 Examinations commence on Friday 15 November and conclude on Friday 22 November.

Year 9 Examinations commence on Thursday 21 November and conclude on Friday 22 November.

Students should be thinking about constructing a useful study timetable to assist with their preparations and to speak with their subject teachers if they have any queries about the structure and content of the examinations.

Headstart 2020

Headstart 2020 for Years 8 to 12 commences on Tuesday 26 November and concludes on Thursday 5 December.

We will use this time to transition students from one year level to the next. It helps to prepare the students for the following year, so that when classes commence in the new year, we can begin our teaching and learning programs in earnest.

There is a lot to get ready in preparation for this to occur but we believe it provides great benefit to our students.

The last day of classes for all students in Years 7 to 11 is Friday 6 December.

Year 12 Celebrations

Days at Kilbreda are a wonderful array of colour, sound, spirit, challenge, faith and achievement as we add another chapter to Kilbreda’s evolving story.  In the coming week we will gather as a whole school community to celebrate the gifts, talents, values and achievements of our Year 12 students.

Our Year 12 students are young people with great minds, talents and well-honed problem-solving skills.  Over the course of this year, they have demonstrated strength, kindliness, determination and a willingness to accept all challenges that their VCAL, VCE and VET studies have presented.

We keep the class of 2019 and their families in our thoughts and prayers in these last weeks of formal schooling as they traverse the very important rites of passage and leave the school that has loved and challenged them.  Whilst they will be missed from our daily school life, they remain an integral part of the Kilbreda family.

Good luck to all our Year 12 students for the adventures that await them.  Go forth, girls.  Set the world on fire.
