Sport

SCSA Softball

On Monday 14 October we took three teams to the SCSA Softball at Jells Park. We were also the host college for the day and this was coordinated by the VET Sport and Recreation class.

It was an amazing day.  All three teams learnt a few more rules throughout the day. Their 'sneaking bases' skills improved as the day went on. The Intermediates narrowly missed the Grand Final by one run. The Senior team won one game, had two draws and lost two games.

The Junior team made it to the Grand Final and everything came together in an amazing final. The Seniors watching were impressed with their hitting and fielding skills. They defeated Santa Maria 15 – 4.  Congratulations to all three teams.

Outdoor Education

Bike Rides

Congratulations to both of our Outdoor Education classes on their participation and completion of the long bike ride from Beacon Cove to the College towards the end of last term. We were dropped at Beacon Cove by the College bus and trailer and then made our way back to school.  26kms all up!

The students enjoyed riding along the promenades of Beacon Cove and Elwood. Some had never been to this part of Melbourne. We stopped at the Brighton Café (North Road) to have our first snack. We continued along to Bay Street, Sandringham for break number 2. We finished our last break at Mentone Lifesaving Club before arriving back at the College in time for lunch.

The students had to navigate around numerous people walking, pushing prams, other cyclists, rollerbladers, skateboarders and people out enjoying the sunshine.

They all demonstrated great bike riding skills, road sense, good communication and stamina.

Congratulations to all students who participated.
