Principal's Message

Art Work by Anneleise

A Prayer of thanks for all the online teaching and learning during this term at Galilee

Expressing Gratitude

Gracious God, in the busy-ness of my day, I sometimes forget to stop to thank you

for all that is good in my life.

My blessings are many and my heart is filled with gratefulness for the gift of living,

for the ability to love and be loved,

for the opportunity to see the everyday wonders of creation,

for sleep and water, for a mind that thinks and a body that feels.

I thank you, too, for those things in my life that are less than I would hope them to be. Things that seem challenging, unfair, or difficult.

When my heart feels stretched and empty, and pools of tears form in my weary eyes,

still I rejoice that you are as near to me as my next breath

and that in the midst of turbulence,

I am growing and learning. In the silence of my soul,

I thank you most of all for your unconditional and eternal love.

Amen

As we come to the end of a learning term, let us reflect on all the learning. Though the term has had challenges, let us look to the future with great hope. In following Jesus Christ, we as believers are guided by the gospel values and are called to action by spreading the Good News. In following Jesus Christ role of discipleship let us be guided by his actions whilst keeping hope alive. Greatness is achieved when hope is present within those who lead by the actions of the Jesus Christ.

All through this term what has truly emerged is a school community which is resilient, knows how to work together, how to collaborate, is filled with faith and hope and knows how to live out its commitment to our students and families.

I would particularly like to commend and thank our very professional and hard working staff for the incredible energy that they have brought to every learning opportunity throughout this term. They are truly remarkable. On behalf of the staff I would also like to thank you, our parents for all the encouragement you have given to your children as they have participated in remote learning. You continue to be amazing.

We wish you all a peaceful break from the school remote learning routine and look to being united together on-site face to face.

NAPLAN

Each year, students in Years 3 and 5 complete the National Assessment Program of Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN). NAPLAN is the only national assessment that all Australian children undertake that monitors students’ ongoing literacy and numeracy progress.

We congratulate our Year 3 and Year 5 students! In the past weeks, general whole school NAPLAN data has been released to schools and it is incredibly pleasing to see how our students performed in their cohorts in comparison to the state and national data. Our students have produced year group results way above the state and national means. I would like to thank our teachers for their work with their students, and the students themselves for performing so well.

Term 4 Week 5 - 1 November - Year 2 & Year 6

Term 4 Week 6 - 8 November - Year 3, Year 4, Year 5

Term 4 details such as drop off/pick up arrangements, excursions, incursions, Masses, Graduation, assemblies, parents on site etc, will be confirmed once we are given more information in the coming weeks. Thank you for your ongoing patience and support.
