Intermediate Band
Last week the Intermediate band held their first ever virtual band rehearsal. This was a new and interesting experience for all involved. Because of the nature of online playing, we couldn’t actually play together as we would in a usual rehearsal. Rather students used the mute button and played along with recordings and the teacher, doing warm ups and looking at pieces. We also looked at shared scores to do a bit of analysis finding a range of interactive components on Webex, that we (mostly Mrs Green), didn’t know about. While remote rehearsals cannot replace our face to face rehearsals, they provide a great way to stay connected with each other and keep our learning going until we can be back at school.
Remote Teaching
Remote lessons give students a sneak peek into their teachers teaching rooms. We thought you might like to see what the music teachers teaching spaces look like.
Remote Lessons
Our instrumental music students are all finding spaces in their homes for their online lessons. Some are very creative in the way they set up their equipment.
Music Soirees & Spring Concert
One thing we are all learning to do in the current Covid climate is be flexible. With the onset of remote learning, the Music Soirees needed to be postponed. When we return to school we will be able to determine how we will deliver concerts both Soirees and the Spring Concert to families. So, stay posted to see what exciting events the music department comes up with.
