Attendance Matters

Attendance marking
As we settle back into school for the remainder of Term 4, we would like to remind our families of the preferred attendance procedures. Our aim from now until the end of Term 4, will be to ensure our classrooms are focused on student wellbeing, teaching and learning.
Please see the below attendance flowcharts for a reminder of our attendance procedures:
If you need to collect your child/ren early please remember that the preferred collection times are at the beginning of OR the end of the scheduled break times.
Break times
Break #1 - 10:40-11:25am
Break #2 - 1:05 - 1:50pm
Reporting and recording attendance; Parent responsibilities
Parents are required to ensure their child attends school and to provide an explanation for their child's absence from school. Parents should promptly inform the school of the reason for their child's absence so that the school can:
- determine if the child's absence needs to be excused by the principal, in line with school policy and these guidelines (*see below for the School Attendance Policy)
- determine the appropriate follow up to ensure the child's education and wellbeing is supported
- record if the parent has a reasonable excuse for not meeting their obligation to ensure their child attends school each day
Where possible, parents should inform the school in advance of upcoming absences.
Attendance Texts
Compass attendance texts are automated at:
- 10am - In accordance with AM roll marking
- 2:15pm - In accordance with PM roll marking
The 'Not Present' attendance text will be sent when:
- A student is marked 'Not Present' and there is no attendance note for the student
- There are no Late Arrivals for the student for this period of time
If you have any questions regarding our attendance marking procedures please email cranbourne.south.ps@education.vic.gov.au
We are looking forward to seeing all our CSPS students back onsite learning and playing with their friends.
