Principal's Message
Dear Families,
Last Friday twelve of our Year 6 Students represented the school at the annual St. Patrick's Day Mass and Celebration at the Cathederal in the city. My thanks to Mr. Steele Anderson who took the children to this important occasion. We were also acknowledged at this mass as we are celebrating 175 years of St. Finbar's Education in East Brighton. This is an extraordinary achievement for our school and wider parish community. Our children were also asked to participate in the mass celebration.
Later this year in Term 3, we will be celebrating this achievement to coincide with St. Finbar's Feast day (25th September). As St. Finbar's Feast day falls on the school holidays, we will be celebrating a few weeks earlier.
Harmony Day Celebrations
Tomorrow is the end of our Harmony day celebration week. All students are encouraged to dress up in their cultural heritage clothes or the colours of their family country of origin flag. Students can also wear orange if they wish, which is the recognised colour of Harmony Day. We will be holding a whole school parade on the Mary Clare playground at around 1:30pm. Families are invited to attend if they are able to.
School Photos
Our annual class, sibling, leadership and individual photos are scheduled for Monday 27th March. Please find attached below, information about how to order your photos. All students are expected be in full summer uniform, including correct shoes and socks. We will be having jumpers off for all photos as well.
Students are allowed to wear their hair out for this day only.
*Please register for sibling photos online before 8am, Monday 27th March.
P & F Major Event
I am looking forward to our annual fundraiser evening to be held this Saturday evening in the school hall. At last count we will have over 200 people gathered for this event!

Open Days
Our final, official school Open Day for 2024 enrolments will be held on
Tuesday 28th March
(or by appointment on other dates).
It will be from 9:00am – 11:00am
This is an excellent opportunity for interested families to see St. Finbar’s students and staff in action. School tours will be conducted by myself, Ms. Hill, Mr. Anderson and our Year 6 student leaders.
Outdoor Classroom!
I am very pleased to announce that we have finished the outdoor classroom for our community to enjoy. We will be scheduling some class time for each year level in this newly finished space whilst the weather is still warm this term.
