The luck of the Irish!💚☘

Dear Parents and families,

It has been an absolute pleasure this week to meet with several parents in our community to have Program support meetings to support children in our care at Sacred Heart. It has been  a delight to hear about all  the gains and progress  so many children are making across the school. A huge thank you to all the teachers for their work in preparing for the PSG meetings and the incredible work they do with the students in their care. It certainly takes a village to raise  a child.  Every year we collect information for the NCCD Nationally consistent collection of data. If you would like more information on this please read the attached fact sheet.

Some of the catch phrases I have heard from parents this week- They have been commenting on the  structured approach across our school, the explicit teaching and the straight classes have all significantly benefitted students right across our school.  The teachers are doing a phenomenal job teaching our MSL (multi-sensory structured language) and our new programs of Spelling Mastery and The Writing Revolution this term.

CHALK FEST 2023

Thanks to the students and families and especially Mrs Liz Hyslop, our creative Art teacher for heading down to the Sandringham village last Saturday for the Chalk fest 2023. It was very special to have Sacred Heart represented in the community. What a beautiful job they did with their chalk work.

We had a brilliant today at our annual Athletics carnival. the weather was certainly kind to us and it was so special to see all students participating right across our school. In my role as official Score Keeper and First Aider I am happy to report that we had very few injuries and all students showed incredible resilience by having  a go in every event. Our prep students really shone in their very first carnival. A huge thank you to all the parents who volunteered to help, making it  a much smoother day and especially  Simon Brown, our Physical Education teacher for organising and co-ordinating such a successful day in his inaugural year. It was  a really fun day for our school community.

A few gorgeous students from Year 4 and prep popped by my office to share their amazing work, it is always  a pleasure to see their brilliant work!

Wishing you a Happy St Patrick's day and  a lovely weekend and hopefully an opportunity to relax and refresh,
