Principal's Rep

Carly Avery

Dear Parents and Friends,

A huge congratulations to the Bijker’s on the arrival of Ophelia. We congratulate Arjen and Catherine, big sister Freyja (Foundation), and Tex. An exciting time in the Bijker household!

Well done to our Year 3 and 5 students who completed NAPLAN last week. It was impressive to see the way in which these students completed these assessments and the support from our Year 4 and 6 students. Thank you also to Michael and Trish for facilitating these.

Golden Horseshoe Festival

A huge thank you to James Cleeve who has offered to oversee the preparation of the food for our stall on Easter Saturday. This is a big task and a generous offering, thanks in advance.

As per the information sent home at the end of last week, we are now looking to lock in volunteers for the food stall and participation in the parade. It would be great if any notes are sent in by mid-next week so we can finalise numbers and volunteers.

Camp

This week I have the privilege of attending camp at Sovereign Hill with our Year 4-6 students. I would like to particularly thank Dan Matthews, Trish Shaw, and Michael Kearton for also attending camp this week, and giving up time with their families.

Our wonderful students are proving again what a positive experience camp is with enthusiasm, respect, patience, kindness, and importantly laughter. We are all having a great time, and have learnt a lot today spending time in costume and at school in Sovereign Hill.

CARITAS - Lake Sambell Walk 31/03/2023 9.00am - 11.30am

Students will walk to Lake Sambell to experience what it is like to live without easy access to clean water. They will imagine they are living in a small, remote village in Mozambique where people do not have taps in their houses and one village pump has broken down – not for the first time.

Students will be walking to Lake Sambell as a school carrying empty milk cartons. The students will fill the milk cartons up from the lake and carry them back to school. The water will then be used to water the garden.

Foundation students will walk with their buddies.

Students can wear their Sports Uniform.

We have some empty milk bottles at school but if you have one to send with your child that would be wonderful.
