Some good ones to read are these

Book Week

We love third term at school as we get to celebrate Book Week. Book Week is held as the Children's Book Council of Australia announces the winners of the Shortlisted Books in the different categories

Picture Books

Early Childhood

Younger Reader

New Illustrator

Information Books

We are busy reading them now and the children think the winner is the one I'm reading to them now.

This year for Book Week we will once again have a Book Fair. Unfortunately, Reader's Companion can not run it for us but I have been able to get The Children's Bookshop. This is another beautiful bookstore specializing in Children's Literature. They will also give us a commission on the books which are sold. I will let you know the times for the Book Fair closer to the time.

Donate a book to the Library.

Books are very expensive and each year at Book Week I ask families if they can to donate a book to the library. Of course, you are under no obligation to donate but we appreciate it if you can. I have selected books which I would like to be donated and you can choose  $10, $15 and $20 options.

Book Character Parade.

On Thursday the 24th August we will be having our Book Fair Parade and we will be joined by The Glen Innes Preschool and Little Joey's. Children are asked to dress up as a book character and bring the book which it comes from. The time for the parade is 10:45 and you are all welcome to join us. After the parade you are invited to stay for morning tea and then read a book with your child/children in the playground.

The theme for Book Week this year is Read, Grow and Inspire and we are doing activities around this them and the books.

Author Visit

Last Wednesday the Stage 3 children  had a virtual author visit by Cameron Stelzer. Cameron will be visiting the rest of the school in Term 4 but because Stage 3 is on camp we were able to organise a Zoomsession. Teachers and students were very impressed by the session and we look forward to welcoming him visiting us in person.

New outside Furniture.

We are very lucky to have new furniture outside the library. Children have been enjoying playing games and reading books. Thank you Mr McManus for buying us this great furniture.
