PEEL Paragraphs in Year 4

To support their learning in Writing last week, Year 4 students used the PEEL paragraph approach.  This approach assists students by providing a structure for their persuasive writing and helps them organise their thoughts and ideas more clearly.   

When asked to comment on how PEEL helps them the following students answered:

'Since I started using PEEL I remember to include more information and detail in my writing.' - Lily S.

'Using PEEL helps me to organise  my paragraphs.' - Mia G.

'I like PEEL because it makes writing easier and helps my writing make sense.' - Madeleine M.

Wonderopolis Website

Wonderopolis is a great website for primary students, recommended for ages 7+.  It is an informational site that asks and answers interesting questions about the world. Every day, a new 'Wonders of the Day' question is posted, and each is designed to get kids and families to think, talk, and find learning moments together in everyday life. The site provides hundreds of questions that cover dozens of categories from animals (Why do skunks stink?) to cultures (What is zydeco?) to history (Who is Uncle Sam?) to science (What is space?).  Click on any question to find facts, information, suggestions for exploring further useful links, and videos.
