Around The School - Mr O'Toole, Assistant Principal

Our school has been fortunate to be in the midst of a building project. It is very exciting to see stage one of the project nearing completion. This part of the project will see improvements to the existing hall as well as new flexible learning spaces, library, canteen and toilets. It has been well worth the wait and the inconveniences along the way. Many thanks to Shay Brennan Constructions, particularly James McDonald for making the journey as seamless as possible. The next stage of the project and refurbishment will begin during the Christmas holidays. Once again we are extremely grateful to the Catholic Schools Office for their support in this project.

Last week Mrs Hanes, Mrs Holland, Mrs Bearman and myself presented our review of our Annual Improvement Plan to other schools from the Armidale Diocese and members from the Catholic Schools Office. It was great to present the wonderful work being done at our school and share our achievements for the year which began with our school centenary back in Term 1. It has been a fantastic year and all of us at St Joseph’s should be very proud of our achievements so far in 2019.

As we head towards summer, the weather is warming up, it is really important for the students to be wearing a hat whenever they are outside. It is also an expectation that the students are wearing the correct full summer uniform. We ask for parent support in reminding your child to wear the correct uniform every day.

Please keep those people who have been affected by the drought and bush fires in your thoughts and prayers.
