Did you know?

Since the inception of Marian College in 1957, there has been a long history of interest in The Arts and Musical Performance.  Beginning in 1973, The Arts Festival was an annual event. Initially, it was held in memory of Sister Frances Teresa Evans – Principal from 1966-1971. This is the shield presented by the family of Sister Frances Teresa that commemorated her time at Marian College and her deep interest in The Arts.  The competition was held on a house basis, according to year level.  Each year level produced a different type of performance: Year 7 – verse speaking, Year 8 – calisthenics, Year 9 – song and dance, Year 10 – play.  The Arts Festival Shield was won by: 1973 IONA, 1974 KILDARE, 1975 CLONARD, 1976 KILDARE, 1977 IONA, 1978 CLONARD, 1979 CLONARD, 1980 TARA.
