Secondary Year 12

Highlights for Term 2

This semester the Year 12s were studying Literacy, Numeracy and Personal Development skills via the topic Post-school Preparation: Skills for Life.  This theme aims to provide students with an awareness of services around Melbourne, a better understanding of the layout of the CBD and greater knowledge of public transport options for navigating within and moving around the city.  The program also reinforces the skills and attributes students need to gain a greater degree of independence and confidence.

Throughout the term the Year 12 students have focused on identity, culture and what makes Melbourne what it is today.  They have also explored climate change and sustainability.  The classes have also been to the Immigration Museum, sampled Melbourne’s culture in Chinatown, Lygon St and Captain Cook’s Cottage and saw the movie 2040.
