House Report

Hopkins

Term 3 has been a very busy and exciting time in Hopkins House. Our sporting silent auction has closed; Hopkins House would like to thank all those who submitted a bid for the signed Brisbane Lions Jersey and a signed Hockey Roos Shirt, which were generously donated by talented locals Hugh McCluggage and Madi Ratcliffe.

We would also like to thank and acknowledge the following students who were a part of Strictly Ballroom the school musical: Thomas Davis, Anne Davis, Louise Fowler, Molly Jackway and Airlie Prout. Thankyou for your time and effort in putting the production together.

A big congratulations also goes to Rhys Buck who has been selected in the national cross-country championships representing Victoria!!

Our Hopkins House Day is just around the corner so get your PJ’s ready and pencil in the 11th of September, we have an exciting day in the works so keep a look out on social media and compass for more details. We would like to remind all our students that “you have to risk it to get the biscuit”.

Student Leadership News - tutorials

Logans Student Leaders have been really excited to see that their work towards improving engagement in tutorials has been met with smiles from Logans students in recent weeks. They’ve arranged a whole range of board games, card games, table tennis sets, balls and hackey sacks, which are rotated through the tutorials each week. It’s certainly gotten loud in the C-wing during tutorial times! The student leaders are now working towards a series of Wednesday morning activities involving all Logans students in combined games – stay tuned!

Upcoming Arts Cup

Logans leaders are very proud to see a number of Logans students already straight through Auditions and into the Arts Cup final performance on September 6th! We’re looking forward to supporting performers in the Battle Rounds as this date comes around.

Student Leadership 2019

With nominations now open, we’re encouraging students with an interest in leadership, with a desire to make a difference, who enjoy working in teams and striving towards common goals to collect a nomination form from the House Office. Student Leadership offers a fantastic opportunity to have a say on the things that shape Logans House and to gain experience in such skills as teamwork, planning, reviewing data and, just as importantly, celebrating achievements. Looking forward to seeing nominations in by Friday 24th August.
