Student Accomplishment

Congratulations to Cadel Howie of Year 7, for winning the overall points competition in the Victorian Junior Road Cycling Series this year. Cadel is a regular winner of races in the South West area and this year has earned enough points from riding just three of the five events to claim the overall prize. This result was helped by winning all four races at the final event of the series.

Earlier this year, our Cadel was selected to take part in the opening procession for the Cadel Evans Road Race in Geelong.

Well done Cadel!

Building Works and School Access

Building works have commenced!

This is an exciting time for the College as we undergo some much needed renovations and new building works. During this period parents will be unable to access the main entrance to the administration building. Please use the entrance on the right hand side of the administration building (closest to the library). Visitor parking is available adjacent to the auditorium.

Year 10 English

Wednesday last week the year 10 English students had the chance to see a professional performance of Romeo and Juliet  by the Complete Theatre Works Company. The 60 minute performance focused on key scenes and allowed the students to see one of Shakespeare’s most famous plays in our very own school. It was a brilliant chance for students to engage with the text they are studying. At the end of the performance students were able to ask the actors questions about their profession, as well as their views on the play.

War on Waste at Warrnambool College…. Nude Food!

As part of our attempt to minimise rubbish at school we would like all students to bring ‘NUDE FOOD’ for lunch and snack.

Packaged snacks can be unwrapped with the plastic package going into your soft plastics recycle bin (or landfill bin) at home and snacks brought to school in reusable containers.

Soft ‘scrunchable’ plastics can be recycled at the RedCycle Bins at Coles and Woolworths supermarkets.

Lets all fight The War on Waste

Art Department Request

Do you have broken toys lying around at home? Bottle top lids? Plastic cutlery? All that pesky plastic that you can’t recycle?  The Art department can reuse these items and would welcome donations that we can upcycle into sculptures.

Thank you in advance
