Victorian Inter-school Horse Trials

Annelise Butress represented RSC at the Victorian Inter-school Horse Trials on 29th and 30th April. The Horse trials consist of 3 phases of horse riding Dressage, Show Jumping and Cross country Jumping. Annelise came first in the EVA80 section with her horse Ashton. A total of 89 schools from around the State competed in this event and she was placed in the composite team with riders from Mount Lilydale Mercy college, FCJ college Benalla and Melbourne Girls Grammar who did extremely well placing fourth overall.

State Swimming

A number of students competed in the State Swimming Championships held at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre. It was a fantastic day with some excellent results and a great experience for all students involved.

 

Results were as follows:

Cade Cavanagh – 2nd place in 13 Yr 50m freestyle and 3rd in 50m Breastroke

Tarni Cavanagh – 2nd place in 15 Yr 50m Butterfly

Caitlin Dellows – 5th place in 15Yr 200m Freestyle

Tiffany Hayes – 5th place in 14 Yr 50m Breastroke

Sophie Caldwell/Ciara Lumsden/Caitlin Dellows/Tarni Cavanagh – 2nd place 17 Yr 200m Freestyle Relay

 

The highlight of the meet was Sophie Caldwell’s performances. Five wins, with two new records. A brilliant effort.

17-20 Yr 200m Freestyle

17 Yr 50m Freestyle

17 Yr 50m Breastroke

16-20 Yr 200m IM  - new record 2:23:18

12- 20Yr 400m Freestyle   - new record 4:26:16

 

Sophie has also been selected as part of the Australian team for the Commonwealth Youth Games, which will be held in the Bahamas.

CONGRATULATIONS SOPHIE!!!!!

 

This is a huge achievement. We wish her a safe trip, an amazing experience and fantastic performances.
