Year 10 Humanities Excursion

ASX/Shaw and Partners

In a globalised world influenced by technology and science, students face many career choices and pathways. In a mining state like Western Australia, many of our boys will inevitably fund lucrative careers in this sector, and this week, our boys were intrigued to learn that this didn’t mean they had to study engineering or science to be employable.

The world of finance in Perth is strong, with many lucrative jobs to be found at the large multinational finance consultancies and, more importantly, at the many mining companies that dominate the Terrace. On Wednesday, it was a pleasure and privilege for the Year 10’s to be welcomed back to the ASX and Shaw and Partners by Trinity Old Boys James Rowe (’84) and Davide Bosio (’94). Visiting the ASX was a unique opportunity for our boys to learn from James and Damian Dinelli (’10) about the important role of the ASX in ensuring compliance as companies raise capital and list.

Our boys were highly inquisitive and posed many interesting questions, showing their interest in pursuing this pathway. At Shaw and Partners, the boys were educated in careers in the finance industry and, more specifically, the role of advisors in providing financial advice to clients. They were challenged to demonstrate their economics prowess with a quiz, and it was amazing to see so many budding economists.

It was also inspiring for our boys to see what being a ‘Man for Others’ looks like after Trinity College, and it was humbling to see our old boys’ commitment to living this out in their working life and sharing with the boys the importance of giving back to their community.

Thank you to the boys for their exemplary behaviour and to Peter Torre, James, Damian and Davide for their time and commitment to our aspiring Accountants, Economists and Advisors.

Year 9 Ballroom Dancing Social

The Year 9 Ballroom Dancing Social was held at Trinity College on Thursday evening. The social theme was 1950’s and was a culmination of four weeks of ballroom dancing lessons with Mercedes College, giving students the opportunity to put their newfound dancing skills to the test.

All students got into the spirit of the evening and had outfits to match!! A big thank you to the Year 12 prefects and staff from both schools for making it a wonderful evening!

Careers Expo 2023

On Tuesday we had the TC/Mercedes Careers Expo. It was a wonderful opportunity for students to explore possible future career pathways, and to ask industry experts questions. Thank you to all our students and representatives who took the time to set up the expo.
