Enrol Foundation (Prep) students NOW for 2024

There is a new time line for enrolments in all government schools. Enrolments for 2024 opened on Monday 24th April. 

Enrolment confirmation should be completed by 28th July pleas

Could all parents with Foundation (prep) enrolments for 2024 please enrol now. The office can help with any enquiries.

To enrol, obtain an enrolment pack from the school office or download the enrolment form from the school website. When submitting enrolment forms, please attach a copy of your child's birth certificate and immunisation history.  

Prep bags 2023 survey

Have your say about this year’s Prep bags in a short survey, closing Sunday 9 July.

Each year, the Department of Education gives every Prep student attending a Victorian government school a bag full of goodies to celebrate this milestone in their education journey. The information and educational resources in the bags are designed to help Prep students and their families thrive from the start of Term 1. The department is inviting parents and carers of current Prep students to participate in a short survey about the 2023 Prep bags, by 5 pm on Sunday 9 July 2023. Your feedback will help the department learn what families liked about the Prep bags and what can be improved in 2024.

The survey takes 5 to 10 minutes to complete, and responses are anonymous. For more information on this year’s Prep bags, refer to Prep bags

Student illness exclusion requirements

Parents and carers, below is a general reminder of the conditions around which students with common illnesses can attend school. A gastro/diarrhoeal illness of unknown source is the most common in schools. There is gastro going around at the moment and it is important that we keep everyone as healthy as possible.

Excerpt from our Infectious diseases policy:

Schools have a legal responsibility to help manage infectious diseases in their facilities. Schools also have an important role to play in supporting the prevention and control of transmission of infectious diseases through abiding by legislated requirements for school exclusion, infectious disease notification and immunisation status recording. 

Exclusion of a child with an infectious disease: (primary school students) Children with certain infectious diseases, and children who have been in contact with certain infectious diseases, are required to be excluded from school for a specified period. Infectious diseases are diseases caused by pathogenic microorganisms, such as bacteria, viruses, parasites or fungi; the diseases can be spread, directly or indirectly, from one person to another.

Primary schools must be aware of the Public Health and Wellbeing Regulations 2009 exclusion requirements and must not allow a child to attend school if:  

They have been informed that the child is infected with an infectious disease that requires exclusion as described in the School exclusion table.

They have been informed that a child has been in contact with a person with an infectious disease as described in the School exclusion table. 

Diarrhoeal/Gastro illness: Exclude until there has not been vomiting or a loose bowel motion for 48 hours.
