'Mr Lewis also well known as Lewie has played a huge part in the school as well as one of the very known production faces, with his “sit boo boo” and “don’t touch the curtains” he seems scary but is just a giant teddy bear inside. Thank you for all the work you put into production and the school we cant thank you enough!!'  Jade Campbell, Performing Arts Captain

'Most students see Mr Lewis as the scary Assistant Principal but little do they know, behind his iconic fast-pace walk, Mr Lewis is truly a soft teddy bear.  Since coming to Wantirna in Year 7, I've been a part of the production and have really got to know many of my teachers, one of them being Mr Lewis (or Lewie, as we like to call him) who is never in too much of a hurry to say Hi, have a laugh and a good old chat.  I remember one morning Lewie coming up to me and my friend Jade to talk to u about production business when we were sitting with our friends. As always, it was a funny little chat before he had to quickly run off somewhere else. Once he left, my friend said 'Woah, he's really funny'. I followed up by saying 'See, told you guys he wasn't scary.'  Truly though, Mr Lewis is a hard-working, funny and caring teacher who has clearly made his mark. State Education is lucky to have a teacher like Lewie.'  Bianca Mizzi, Performing Arts Captain

'Congratulations on 40 years! thank you for everything you have done for me and all your other students.' Evan Henderson, graduated 2022

'Thank you for everything you have done, I don’t think I would have a such a great future ahead without your support. I’ll forever be grateful.' Jason Henderson, graduated 2022

'Congratulations Lewie. Four decades is a super human effort, particularly at the pace you go at. Well done!' Clarke Bull

'Lewie has been one of the driving forces in extracurricular activities at Wantirna, equally passionate about the sports program as he is about production. Students that have worked with Lewie only have positive things to say about him, myself included. Thank you for all the work and effort you put into staff, students and the school.' Surya Ganesan

'Congratulations to Mr Lewis for his 40 years of service to students in government schools in Victoria! His legacy of support within and outside of the classroom, will endure well past his time and service with our school and the Department of Education.' Kevin Murphy
