Parent Volunteer Induction Course

Save the date

The Parent Volunteer Induction Course is for all parents and carers who would like to be involved in activities at BPS.  This includes classroom helpers, incursion, excursion helpers, specialist classes and working in any space around our school with our students.

We strongly encourage parents /carers to attend the course being offered in Term 3, particularly our prep parents.

We have arranged for 2 different opportunities Tuesday 18th July at 2:30pm and again on Friday 21st July at 9:00am. We have made available the 2 different times and days so parents will find it easy to attend. It will run for approximately 40mins.

An important aspect we will be sharing is the Child Safe Standards for Volunteers.

The dates have been set on the calendar.

Looking forward to seeing you there.

Premiers' Reading Challenge

Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge

The Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge is now open and BPS is excited to be participating. The PRC application offers a range of exciting features including:

  • access to a library catalogue (including book images and blurbs)
  • a modern user-friendly interface
  • rewarding students with badges as challenge milestones are achieved
  • the option for students to mark books as a favourite, give them a star rating or complete a book review

The Challenge is open to all Victorian children from birth to Year 10 in recognition of the importance of reading for literacy development. It is not a competition; but a personal challenge for children to read a set number of books by 8 September 2023.

Children from Prep to Year 2 are encouraged to read or ‘experience’ 30 books with their parents and teachers. Children from Year 3 to Year 10 are challenged to read 15 books.

All children who meet the Challenge will receive a certificate of achievement signed by the Victorian Premier and former Premiers.

To read the Premier’s letter to parents, view the booklist and for more information about the Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge, visit: https://www.vic.gov.au/premiers-reading-challenge

Hello Summer Twilight Fest

Hello Summer!

Many of us are feeling the chill as we head into the bleaker weeks of winter, but it won’t take long before the spring flowers bloom, and even better – when we can enjoy the festivities at the BPS Twilight Fest on the 18th of November!

Imagine the warmth of the sun on your back, juicy watermelon slices and ice creams dripping down your kid’s t-shirts as you browse market stalls, enjoy an array of games, crafts, and sports activities to the sounds of live vocals and chilled tunes and the aroma of delicious, freshly cooked produce.

Our Fete Committee consists of parent volunteers, class reps and school council members, who are busy making this vision come alive!

We are seeking sponsors to help fund this event, and each class has been allocated a specific stall to manage on the day. So please get stuck in with some friends, and together, let’s create a fantastic community event.

For all sponsorship and marketing enquiries, please email beaumarispsfundraising@gmail.com and stay connected via our social media platforms!

Best Wishes,

Fete Sponsor, Marketing & Comms Team
