Dear parents, students and staff,

As your new Principal I would like to officially welcome you back to the new school year. I hope you had an enjoyable and relaxing break especially after a very challenging 2020.   I am very excited to be a part of the school community and am looking forward to meeting members of the community throughout the year.

A very warm welcome to all new students and their families. You are embarking on a wonderful learning journey, which will be enhanced by always trying your personal best.

It was great to see the students return to school and the positive energy and excitement was palpable.  I have had the opportunity to meet and chat with many of the students and they were certainly happy to be back at the school (especially the second time!).  My first impressions of the students is that they are friendly, sincere and curious cohort which are essential traits to maximise learning growth. As a school we need to harness these qualities by providing an environment that is inspiring, innovative and inclusive.

Our 2020 Year 12 results and pathways destination were excellent.  Many of our students were accepted into their first university/TAFE preference.  Despite the exceptional circumstances of 2021 96% of VCE and 97% of our VCAL students were successful in achieving their VCE certificates. I would like to thank Liz Rundle (Careers) for providing her invaluable guidance to the cohort.

New staff

I am pleased to announce the new staff at Fairhills High School:

  • Emma Peng – Math/Science teacher
  • Mitchell Ely – Math/Science teacher
  • Peta Cartwright – Mental Health Practitioner
  • Ayako Woollan – Language Assistant

We look forward to their positive contributions to students’ learning.

2021 School Uniform

All families have received the Fairhills High School uniform policy. Support in ensuring the correct uniform is worn is much appreciated.

If a student cannot wear the correct uniform, a note from a parent/carer is required. This should be presented to the Uniform Officer before school in C7.

Our aim to be the school of choice in the Knox area so it is important that our students wear the uniform with pride, representing the school in a positive manner.

Fairhills High School values

Our three core values underpin everything we do at Fairhills High School.

All community members should be attempting to uphold these values and their traits at all times.
