Parents & Carers On-Site

There is little in life so reassuring as a genuine welcome. - Robin Hobb

We have never been a school that shuts the gate at 9am. We are proud of our sense of community and I am sure many of you join me in missing the opportunity to see friends as part of your daily drop-off and pick-up, or simply to join your child at morning line-up.

Starting from next week, we are excited to be able to provide the opportunity for families to return to our grounds, however our unique culture of family engagement in the morning and at Sprout requires careful management of the risks associated with COVID-19. As such, we have created a weekly roster of ‘cohorts’ that are welcome to come on-site in the mornings Monday - Thursday. Friday afternoon assemblies unfortunately must operate a little differently. The schedule is:

  • Mondays - Foundation & Grade 6 families
  • Tuesdays - Grade 3 families
  • Wednesdays - Grade 1/2 families
  • Thursdays - Grade 4/5 families
  • Fridays - (a rotating roster, depending on which class is performing at assembly or which grade 6 students are leading the event)
    • please note, the first assembly where families will be invited is Friday 19th Feb)

This approach will be trialled and adjustments will be made, if required. This opportunity for families to reconnect with each other and the school depends on our ability to maintain the safety of everyone within our school. As such, we ask that any family members intending to come on site on their rostered day to please observe the following guidelines:

  • Families are asked to stick to their allocated day. If, due to work or other commitments, you are unable to attend on your scheduled day, please contact Sprout or the front office to discuss other arrangements for you and your family.
  • Prior to 9am, rostered family members are allowed throughout the school grounds, but are asked to refrain from entering the school building or portable classrooms.
  • From 9 - 10am, rostered family members are allowed to attend Sprout, but are asked to refrain from moving throughout the yard. This includes any pre-school children. All family members are asked to exit the school grounds by 10am.
  • Any adults on site for more than 15 minutes must register their attendance using the QR codes at Sprout.
  • All adults are asked to maintain social distancing requirements. Hand sanitiser will be available at Sprout and we ask you to respect the limits on how many adults are allowed on the Sprout deck at any one time.

The school will remind families through Sentral, the day before they are invited to come on site. These reminders will include any updates to guidelines or expectations.
