News for MLC

TERM 4

It has been wonderful to have all MLC students back at school for the last term of this year. The beginning of term 4 saw us farewell Garcia but also welcome three news students, Jemima, Vivienne and Sophie who have all been a great addition to our classroom.

Students have been working on writing persuasive pieces and their favourite piece was the Design a Donut one. Students were required to design the most delicious and visually appealing donut and then write a piece persuading a donut shop owner to choose their donut as Flavour of the Month. All students presented incredibly colourful donut designs and put forward some strong arguments as to why their donut should be the winner.

In Maths, students have continued to learn about the four operations and fractions as part of a whole. Signora has also been working with them on measurement and improving their understanding of telling the time.

Some definite highlights of this Term have been the opportunity for children to be back in the classroom with their peers, enjoying hands-on Specialist classes again, celebrating birthdays, earning over 1000 points on Class Dojo, Italian Day and having the Tuck Inn open again.

Over the holidays we encourage children to continue reading daily and spend some time practising their timetables. Most of all, we wish our children and their families a wonderful Christmas and a safe New Year. We have loved teaching your children over the past year (or two years!) and we will be saddened to not be with them again next year. However, our shoes will be more than capably filled by Mr Brophy who has lots of enthusiasm, great ideas, fun and games up his sleeve for 2021.
