3D Game Design

In Baimbridge College’s Certificate 3 in Screen and media, students gain an intimate understanding of the professional modelling software ‘Maya’. The Gundam was the character I produced during my second year for the development and production of a fully playable game. Based off of a robot by the same name, following various designs to reach the finished product, which due to my hours of hard work was lucky enough to be 3D printed. I strongly encourage anyone who’d be interested in the certificate or any pathway which it leads into to enrol in the course or at minimum seek out further information. I don’t regret it and I am overwhelmingly satisfied with my results.

We have a NEW KILN!

The Baimbridge College Visual Art Learning Area is very grateful to all the parents, students and staff who have contributed to the raising of funds over the last four years to purchase a new Ceramics Kiln. Ceramics is an art form that students from years 7 – 12 all enjoy and which can provide pathways to further education, training and career opportunities. The art making process of manipulating the clay by hand or on the Potter’s wheel provides a hands on leaning experience that inspires students to engage in a fun, often messy and meaningful learning activities. The joy of making a ceramic artwork combined with the surprise and often serendipitous results of the glazing and Kiln firing process can produce some very exciting and creative results.

Outdoor Ed Adventures

The ‘Outdoor Ed Water’ group took off in the bus yesterday morning at 7:30AM to Forest where they spent the day mountain biking in the Otways.  Unfortunately, they didn't encounter the elusive black panther, but they did thoroughly enjoy their time in the outdoor environment.  They explored several trails and took in the flora and fauna that they would be learning about in the classroom next week.  Thank you to Mr Daff for driving the bus and hats off to our students who have been exemplary in their behaviour once again.

The 'Land' group head off today to experience the same adventure.

Unfortunately, due to the excitement of the day we missed taking any photo's!!

The Year 12's are on the count down

It's that time of year, for those students about to sit exams there is an added pressure to the workload, be sure to trust in all that you have learned, utilise the study time you have left and put the study tips you have found best for you into practice.

VCAL students are hopefully organising employment, either with their existing work placement or exploring other pathways.  Our encounters within the community and your employers tell us that we should be very proud of your accomplishments.

Non-Scored VCE students are nearly finished their time with us, we wish you the very best for the future and we are very happy that you completed your VCE studies.

We look forward to attending the Year 12 Final Assembly on Thursday the 25th of October and wish all students participating in exams beginning on the 31st of October the best.

Year 7, 2019

Yes, another year has flown by and we are now looking to inform all of our 2019 Year 7 families about what to expect from life at Baimbridge College.  We will be holding three information sessions in the library on Tuesday the 30th and Wednesday the 31st for new families to the school and Thursday the 8th of November for existing families.  The reason that we split the groups is that we do not wish to cover information that you will already know with Compass and the way the school operates if you already have a child here.  If you wish to learn more about these things please feel free to attend the new family session.

Courage * Pride * Respect

Brooklyn Cunnington is showing the values of the school in his endeavors to follow his dreams of becoming a curator at Punt Rd by starting his structured work placement for 2019 at the Hamilton Golf Club early where he will be learning all about the creation and maintenance of a golf course over the next weeks with Warren Hall the course superintendent.  Well done Brooklyn.

Year 10 Trade Taster Students

Year 10 Trade Taster participants tried out cooking with Gilly at the HDSC this week. The boys enjoying making savoury sausage rolls for afternoon tea.

So far the group have tried out the plumbing, electrical and agriculture sector trades. The program is running through to the end of term and has given the participant the opportunity to experience trades that they may not have otherwise considered.

Baimbridge and the HDSC’s partnership with Westvic has been very successful and has received positive feedback from both industry and the participants.
