Swimming Carnival
We were lucky to have such beautiful weather after all the rain for our swimming carnival on February 14th at Emerton pools, it was a great success. Students showed house pride by participating in numerous events across the day, and we congratulate all those that participated. As always, extra house points were hotly contested with each house given the chance to belt out their chant across the pool to the remainder of the school. At the end of the day it was Newcome who came away as house champions. Congratulations to Luka P and Alfiza R who led their team throughout the day. The final tally was;
Overall House Champions:
1st - Newcombe 445 points
2nd – Fraser 345 points
3rd – Walters 308 points
4th – Cuthbert 274 points
We were lucky that we had a beautiful summer’s day and the 2020 Swimming Carnival was filled with spirit, enthusiasm and determination.
Congratulations must also be passed on to our Age Champions:
12 Years – Tegan T and Hasan K
13 Years – Madelyn D and Lachlan Findlay

NEWCOMBE
The Swimming carnival was nothing but amazing! We were so happy to see all the students participate in not only the swimming but the support from the sides. As the Newcombe House Leaders it is safe to say that we alongside many other seniors from the house got the red team in the spirit and can admire the effort we as a whole house put into supporting our swimmers. The Newcombe swimmers did fantastic and it was clear that they tried their hardest. Overall the outcome makes us captains proud to be apart of not only the house but apart of Evans. As this was the last swimming carnival for us house captains and year 12s we’re happy to leave it on such a positive note. And not to mention winning the chanting competition! Go Newcombe !
WALTERS
What a wonderful day for Walters! The swimming carnival was a day that was filled with excitement, cheering and competitiveness. It was my first time being a house captain, I was very nervous and excited at the same time. Thank you to all the leaders in Walters that supported and helped me to make Walters shine, even though we didn’t win the spirit was obvious. Lastly, I was so delighted to see many of the Walters people participating in the swimming events.
