Faculty News

Learning Assistance Faculty (LAF)

What a great start to the year with three new students, Lily, Isaiah and Issac entering Year 7.  Welcome to the Learning Assistance Faculty (LAF).

We have also been so proud of our senior students in Year 11 and 12 who have all successfully started a course in TAFE one day per week as well as work experience.  This has challenged them in learning new skills, travelling to and from work sites and learning how to take instruction from someone other than their teachers.  Well done to Christopher, Nicholas, Georgio, Jesse, Kurt, Hayden and George.

The swimming carnival was also a great success and congratulations to Peter and Alex who received places in events and then represented the school at the Zone Carnival.

Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE)

The PDHPE faculty has started this year by farewelling Amanda Minchella as she begins her maternity leave. Amanda has led the faculty over the past three years and will be sorely missed. Her replacement, Thomas Harrison has big shoes to fill but has been well supported by the rest of the PDHPE faculty during this transition.

The PDHPE faculty is excited for the year ahead and ready to implement engaging and innovative programs. Our students have returned well rested and have demonstrated excellent levels of participation in the practical games offered this term.
