How do we talk about culture?

Not just in the classroom.

Schools have the responsibility to teach all students how to synthesize cultural differences into their knowledge base, in order to facilitate students’ personal and professional success in a diverse world.

A culturally responsive school community helps students from  minority ethnic/racial backgrounds to develop a sense of identity as individuals, as well as proudly identifying with their particular culture group.

Staff and parents can play a big role in helping these students succeed through the establishment of culturally responsive classrooms and play spaces.

This will always be a work in progress.

By an fostering this awareness in ourselves, in our students, in our children we make a good start on a long journey.
